Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the 2014 sequel to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Set a decade following a deadly viral outbreak that has decimated the population, remnants of the human race attempt to make peace with the intelligent apes led by Caesar. The film was directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) and the cast includes Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell and Andy Serkis returns to provide motion capture for Caesar. Reeves would return to direct the 2017 sequel War for the Planet of the Apes.

Rifles

Colt Model 933

Dreyfus (Gary Oldman) as well as other human survivors can be seen using the Colt Model 933 carbine in the film. The rifle carried by Dreyfus is seen fitted with a Leupold CQ/T scope and a Surefire M900 foregrip. Terry (Lombardo Boyar) is armed with two different Model 933 rifles.

M4A1

The M4A1 is used by both humans and apes. A M4A1 with Trijicon ACOG and Surefire M900 foregrip is the primary weapon of Caesar's ruthless adviser Koba (Toby Kebbell). One of Dreyfus' officers (John L. Armijo) is seen armed with a M4A1 throughout the film.

M16A4

What appear to be M16A4 rifles are seen in the survivors' armory. The rifle is later is seen in the hands of several humans, including McVeigh (Kevin Rankin). Later the apes begin using various M16A4s after having raided the survivors’ armory. What appears to be an M16A4 with a Magpul PRS stock can be seen in the hand of a monkey in one of the movie posters.

Bushmaster ACR

The Bushmaster ACR with skeletonized front rail and 10.5 inch barrel is mostly seen with Caesar's son Blue Eyes. Several other Apes are seen armed with Bushmaster ACRs taken from the survivors' armory.

Malcolm (Jason Clarke) is seen with what appears to be a Ruger Model 77 at the beginning of the film. He later hands it over to the apes (as per the agreement they made), where it is seen being destroyed by a gorilla. This rifle is also visible on one of the posters.

What appears to be an M249 Paratrooper SAW is seen used by humans and apes. McVeigh (Kevin Rankin) is seen taking target practice with the machine gun. Koba, Caesar's ruthless bonobo adviser, dual-wields two SAWs during his charge against the human settlement.
